Over Our Quota On Bug Fixes, posted on Wed Nov 8 14:27:16 2023
Posted by: Kadath
Category: Guilds
A number of additions, improvements and bug fixes have been made throughout the Ankh-Morpork Guild of Thieves and beyond. Below is a list of the most noteworthy changes.

Commands:

- A bug in backstab has been fixed. Previously, if you tried to backstab while your inventory was still regenerating, the attempt would go through but you wouldn't get any attacks. Now the attempt is prevented entirely, so you don't lose GP for no reason.

- Scope now works properly for items sold in container...

Custom Prayer Books, posted on Tue Nov 7 18:30:18 2023

The cellar scriptorium of the Temple of Gapp in Genua is now accessible. Guillaume Bindere works there, and he would prefer that you not bother him so that he can finish his novel in peace. However, please do feel free to bother him by getting him to make custom prayer books for you, because quite frankly the Disc can wait a bit longer for his novel.

The find corpse ritual has been updated:

- It now requires a target when you perform it instead of asking at the end. See help find corpse for details on the syntax.

- A bug with some of the distance indicators is fixed.

- It now is clearer when some poor soul happens to have more than one corpse.

- You can now find your own corpse if you lose track of it.

The Hidden Articles, posted on Thu Apr 13 03:48:58 2023

Articles such as "A", "An" or "The" added to deluded items will now be hidden appropriately in messages that mention those items.

Example:

She has A Student Wizard floating around her.

The wise monk swings at you but your floating Student Wizard swoops in and absorbs all of the blow.

Thanks to an unprecedented few days of reluctant cooperation and minimal[1] bickering, the various orders of wizardry (and hedge wizardry) have been able to iron out a number of thaumic wrinkles with various spells, artifacts and magical miscellanea. The most noteworthy of these changes are summarised below:

Jogloran's Portal of Cheaper Travel (JPCT)

- Burning portals from JPCT should now interact in more intuitive ways with things like hand and foot armour, as well as elemental shielding.

I have taken the wizard spell Patient Taming of the Quantum Weather Butterfly firmly by the metaphorical scalp and shaken it up and down a bit.

You will notice that there is now a physical weather lotus in the room when you cast the spell, as well as the fact that the temperature command will report how much the weather orb is affecting you.

The most important functional (rather than cosmetic) change is that the temperature change effected by a weather orb will only be able to affect others if...

Foolish Upgrades, posted on Sat Apr 1 09:53:42 2023

For the 4th year anniversary of the Fools' Guild, its primary guild command has received some upgrades.

Most importantly, the skillchecks for juggling multiple and non-round objects have been increased, and it is now more likely that you will kill yourself if you're going to juggle knives or other sharp objects.

Happy juggling!

P.S. Okay, okay, we also added some new juggling patterns. Go ask Auguste to teach you.

Skeleton Staff, posted on Fri Mar 31 12:05:04 2023

In a move appropriate to his profession, the renowned necromancer Grisald has posthumously made some adjustments to his Reanimated Guardian spell:

- Raising a skeleton warrior will now imbue it with a modest amount of skill in traversing difficult terrain. This should help skeletons to keep up with their masters in a few specific locations. Grisald advises that he tried to extend this benefit to swimming, but apparently there are 'too many holes'.

- Wizards will now be notified when the magic...

The Ettouferie of Luc Chanceux is now open on Yaga Crescent in Genua, offering custom-made string ties of all descriptions. Mano Rossarians in particular will find his services of interest.

Goaded on by this competition, Monsieur Gabbiani has increased his fabric options to include a couple of locally-themed leathers; though unlike Luc, he continues to offer his services to members of the Mano Rossa only.

Fluff Density, posted on Sun Mar 12 18:06:12 2023

Gufnork, God of Fluff, has expressed His displeasure at the drastic reduction in the amount of fluff on the Disc last weekend. Accordingly, the downgrape has been itself downgraped, resulting in a much smaller and less effective downgrape. Fluff is now almost as heavy as it was before, and just as fluffy.
